Mary is the Director of Emergency Management (EM) for Lapeer County. The goal of her department (and most emergency management departments) is: "To protect the health and safety of the residents of Lapeer County from emergencies and disasters, by coordinating disaster preparedness planning, mitigation, response and recovery activities.” One of the most important jobs of an Emergency Manager is to educate and prepare our citizens to survive a large scale emergency or disaster that may happen. The information that the Severe Weather Committee puts together is a vital resource for those of us in EM.
