Kevin Thomason, CPCU – Zone Catastrophe Coordinator – State Farm Insurance
Kevin is currently in his eleventh year as the Michigan Catastrophe Coordinator for State Farm Insurance. He has held several positions within the State Farm Claim department over the past twenty-four years and is responsible for the Company’s preparedness, analysis and response to Michigan disasters.
Kevin has coordinated State Farm operations for over sixty Michigan catastrophes including flood, back-up of sewers/drains, tornado, wind, hail, freezing, snow-load and power outage. He was selected as the on-site Catastrophe Coordinator for Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in Louisiana and has participated in additional disaster operations in Florida, California, Texas, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois and Indiana. Kevin was appointed by Governor John Engler to represent the Property/Casualty Insurance Industry on the Michigan Hazard Mitigation Coordinating Council.
